Anyway, I’m celebrating Thanksgiving with my dear friends tonight and I can’t wait to get my hands on the turkey and the pumpkin pie! I have decided that I love food too much to diet… Happy Thanksgiving 2009 people! Thanksgiving like contentment is a learned attribute. The person who hasn’t learned to be content we will not be thankful for he lives with the delusion he deserves more or something better – Robert Flatt.

Japan Fashion Week 2009
Japan Fashion week 2009 was held from the 19th till the 24th of October at the Tokyo Midtown Hall and I was given a press pass for the event to attend the shows to cover a fashion article. There were a total of 56 participating brands in JFW (Japan Fashion Week) and 45 maisons that participated in the event in total. The highlights of the different fashion shows included popular labels in the fashion industry in Japan such as Miss Ashida and Ganglion, as well as many other emerging Japanese designers showcasing their spring/summer collections.
I was actually down with fever, caught the flu and had a bad case of sore throat during JFW. And honestly it made my life horribly miserable. But fortunately, (and maybe unfortunately for some) I lived…
I was also preoccupied with my midterms which lasted that whole week so I pretty much had to balance out my time between studying and attending the shows…
One show that caught my eye was GalaabendD’s collection: (http://www.galaabend.jp/) The show first started off with really catchy and unique music. And then we start to see the models strutting out, showcasing his elaborate luxe fall collection which had a flawless execution between practicality and classiness. The line consisted predominantly of elegantly chic dresses that scream sophistication along with a few strong-shouldered jackets.
It was an honor to attend Japan Fashion Week, and I have to say that it was spellbindingly fresh to see so much energy in the fashion shows. ;P And I can’t wait to attend more fashion shows in future!
