Pen-Sketch on Moleskin

August 9th, 2010

I bought a Moleskin recently and I am seriously in love with the durability and texture of its acid-free paper. It also has this wire structure that allows the notebook to bend really easily without effecting its spin… so I seriously recommend you guys to get one if you like writing, drawing (or in my case, doodling all sorts of rubbish) on notebooks. I used to be skeptical of its reputation but it finally grew on me. They come in all styles, shapes and sizes and they’re completely worth it! It was even used by artists and thinkers such as Picasso, Van Gogh and Ernest Hemingway so it has to be popular for a reason.

Los Angeles

August 6th, 2010

I’ve just been incredibly busy with everything from A to Z. I am here in Los Angeles and my title says it all. Bidding my little sis farewell, I took a6 hour  flight to LA ready to start a new life in this new city. Anyway, I currently absolutely love the cool ocean breezes, the beach, the pier around the Santa Monica area… And the warm weather temps make going to the pool and the beach a whole lot of fun too. Life is a constant change and its always the positivity that keeps me going… So I’m going to focus on that positivity for now. :) Tata!

Taking Risks

August 3rd, 2010

And by taking risks, I mean taking calculated ones…
Never risk more than you can afford to lose.

The person who risks nothing, does nothing, has nothing and is nothing. This applies to one’s career development, love, and the other aspects of life.

To love is to risk not being loved in return.
I’ll be honest and admit that I am not the kind of person who would put myself out there when it comes to relationships. But I’ve a good friend who reminded me once that if I don’t take certain risks, the chances I end up getting what I want is zero. If you have risked something and end up failing, you learn from it, get closure, and move on… Knowing that you’ve tried is better than constantly thinking about what-ifs.

To hope is to risk despair.
All of us have different goals and expectations. Some people might not agree with what you do because they have their own reasons. But at the end of the day, its not their life. Its yours. So just remember to close your ears to criticisms, people who belittle you, and your ambitions. Its always the small people that to that.

To try is to risk failure.
Just because you are scared doesn’t mean that you should take the easy way out. Turn off your fears. Do not let them hinder your resolutions. Always believe in yourself and that will take you to greater heights in life.

After all, there’s no fun if you don’t go out of your comfort zone to try new challenges in life!
